Careers with a future

You are out of school or close to finishing it. And now it is straight to a successful future! However for many people that is easier said than done, because the subject of choosing a career is sometimes as difficult as it is important: Which career is right for me? Which sectors offer good job and career opportunities? Where can I find information? The initiative ”BIOTechnikum“ has compiled the most important information for the life sciences and biotechnology sector.

Biology or chemistry are part of the curriculum, but the career opportunities that these sciences and neighbouring disciplines open up are often little known. Numerous careers, however, promise an interesting and secure future – no matter whether training or studies lead to a working life. It is important to know that the chances are good in the life sciences sector and are expected to get even better. Biotechnology in Germany continues to be on the rise, and in turn this means that more well trained, qualified experts are needed – from biotechnological specialist to chemistry laboratory assistants and biomedical experts right up to doctors of biology.

You can find out whether life sciences could play an important role in your (professional) life, for example by doing a work placement. Many smaller enterprises and the development departments of large companies offer interested people work placements of several weeks: and they are definitely worth checking out. The initiative ”BIOTechnikum“ provides an insight into the topics, areas of research and uses of biotechnology. At all tour stops of the mobile experience, the scientists accompanying the programme will be happy to answer your questions and to give an overview of training and day to day business in the sector. Furthermore, ”BIOTechnikum“ is offering special practical sessions in co-operation with schools all over Germany: in this way school pupils can do experiments themselves in the laboratory. Perhaps one of the hobby researchers or budding natural scientists will thus discover their enthusiasm for the technology of tomorrow.
